Who are we?

Penneo is a fast-growing RegTech (Regulatory Technology) SaaS company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. We successfully serve customers in industries like accounting, legal, and finance, enabling them to manage and automate their business-critical processes in a compliant, secure, and effortless way.

Following a successful IPO in June of 2020, we are now, more than ever, in a position to execute on our vision for European expansion. We are not only looking for new employees, we are looking to form new long-term relationships with people that can resonate with our culture and values.

We now have the opportunity to look for a Senior Software Engineer to join our awesome, diverse, and growing product development team in our mission to scale our operations and maximize value to our existing and future customers.

Who are we looking for?

As a Senior Software Engineer at Penneo, you will collaborate with a multicultural team of highly skilled and open-minded colleagues. The position is full-time and you will be based together with our product development team in Penneo’s HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark. This position reports to the Director of Engineering

We’re looking for someone with a natural interest in understanding user behavior, and keep to help them work more efficiently.

We are in the process of expanding our existing product offerings, and you will be joining a small team that is creating the future of auditing and accounting. You will be working closely with customers as we are big believers in co-creation.

Being there from the beginning means that you will have a big part in shaping the future for this product and for Penneo itself. You will also have the opportunity to learn and use new technologies while leveraging the existing knowledge and functionality from the rest of our products.

We expect you to have significant experience with architecting and building software that scales well, preferably in product teams with a strong focus on customer happiness. We are looking for someone who understands the relevance of delivering value over perfect code.

We are still making early decisions about our stack, and we expect you to help us make some of these choices. You can read more about the tools we use here:

We would love it if you find it motivating to experiment and work with a creative team, and if you are able to architect solutions that expand beyond a single service, language, or product. Ultimately, your tech stack is not as important as your approach to continuous learning, individually and as a team. We believe in delivering value to our customers and your ability to support your colleagues.

What makes you a strong match for this role?

  • You are familiar with developing/improving service-oriented architecture
  • You are curious about new technologies and new paradigms.
  • You are daring and ready to go new ways to solve technical problems
  • You prefer solving problems through effective and persistent solutions rather than doing workarounds, even if that means investing more time to deliver.
  • You enjoy taking time to mentor other team members and share knowledge with your colleagues
  • You are pragmatic and can prioritize delivering value to customers over perfect code

What energizes you?

  • Productive collaboration with the product development team.
  • Challenging existing architectures and technologies, as well as trying out new ones.
  • Automating processes and building resilient and self-healing architectures.
  • Participating in team activities

Why should you apply for this role?

If you are not already convinced to learn more about the position by the above, then this might not be the right match for you, but we do have a few more benefits up our sleeves:

  • An open, diverse and informal workplace culture, where all team members respect one another and assume responsibility and accountability for their work, while also having fun!
  • Take your career to the next level. There is plenty of responsibility and opportunities to learn and develop your career further while working with talented colleagues
  • Office location in the city center, close to many public transportation options (metro 2 minutes away, buses, trains) and vibrant social life
  • Monthly Friday Bars and lots of social events (one of the several reasons why we want COVID-19 to go away!).
  • Yearly team camps, so that we can charge our batteries and bond as a team
  • Catered and delicious lunch every day
  • Collaboration with a local fitness gym, that everyone at Penneo can benefit from
  • Private health insurance (we’ve got you covered!)
  • We offer many remote working opportunities and flexibility for choosing what works best for you
  • Foosball table (we do have highly skilled players) and a PS4 Pro
  • Competitive salary, depending on qualifications and experience

Now, if you made it this far and you think this may be the right match for you and Penneo, please don’t hesitate to apply

How we work in COVID-19 Times

  • We offer many remote working opportunities and flexibility for choosing what works best for you

  • Online events for socializing and team building
